Together in Tring
DENS is our local homeless hostel based in Hemel Hempstead. We have close relations with DENS with a number of our parishioners volunteering with them. In particular our Harvest collections of food will go to DENS. We have recently sent £1293 to them. Click here for a list of needs.
We host a foodbank in Tring Church as part of the Dacorum foodbank. Every weekday between 10 am and 12 noon people (with a voucher) can collect a food parcel. We are also a collection point for the foodbank so people can drop off donations.
Children’s Society www.childrenssociety.org.uk
The Tring Team Parish has a long and important relationship with the Children’s Society. There are three main ways we support them. Firstly our annual Christingle Services collect for them, secondly we have an annual door to door collection, and finally there is a box collection and box collection opening day.
Christian Aid www.christianaid.org.uk
Christian Aid is the major Christian oversees relief agency. As a parish we join with Churches Together in Tring to support them through concerts, Lent Lunches, and previously the annual door to door collection. We have not done door to door collections for a couple of years but we replaced this fundraising for such an important charity by raising well over £5000 plus gift aid from our Mega Stick Sunday sponsored walk.
Bible Society www.biblesociety.org.uk
The Tring Bible Society Action Group is one of the oldest Bible Society action groups in the country and has been in existence for over 100 years. We support the Bible Society with our ecumenical colleagues in Churches Together.
We try and use fairtrade products as much as possible in our church.
Habitat for Humanity www.habitatforhumanity.org.uk
Over the last few years we have developed a relationship with Habitat for Humanity and have now visited Kyrgyzstan on two occasions to help build houses there.
Beds and Hert Histsoric Churches Trust
We support thie annual sponsored Bike n Hike in September, around churches in the area with our 5 churches all open for visitors. Half the money raised comes to the parish, the other half goes to the charity who give grants to help maintain historic churches in the diocese.
Parish Outward Giving
Throughout the year our parish focuses on a calendar of missions support and outreach and we will ask you to join in the activities and support the appeal so that our parish community looks outwards and supports those in greater need than ourselves. For further information or suggestions on mission causes, please contact Grahame Senior 01442 822770 or email You might also want to check the calendars and news sections to see when we are having fundraising events.
